The new banner material made of SEAQUAL® YARN is the sustainable alternative to the conventional decorative banner made of polyester. Applicable in your textile stretch frame, display or ceiling hanger, the material does not differ in its function. It simply offers an environmentally conscious alternative made from 100% recycled material, 62% of which is SEAQUAL® YARN upcycled marine plastic and 38% recycled polyester. The piping sewn all around is PVC-free and the sublimation inks used are OEKO-TEX class 2 certified.
From plastic waste to decorative banner - the processing series begins with the Seaqual Initivative. This collaborative community works with ocean clean-up programmes around the world. They are committed to raising awareness of the problem of ocean plastic pollution and finding a solution to the global problem. Their dedicated staff collect the plastic from our oceans, rivers, beaches and estuaries and recycle it into chips. These chips are delivered to yarn manufacturing partners who produce yarn from them. This recycled yarn is then used to make the textile that we use as decorative or promotional banners. Using sustainable inks, the banners can be individually printed with your desired motif.
The entire product chain is completely traceable. In order to achieve this, labels are sewn onto the decorative banners that prove the SEAQUAL® YARN (upcycled marine plastic). Each banner is also assigned a Seauqal certification number, which allows it to be traced back to the origin of the actual marine plastic.
